Gurkhas Restaurant
Authentic Nepalese and Indian food
Our Story
Kalpana Gurung, the founder of Gurkhas Nepali/Indian dine-in restaurant, was born and raised in Nepal before moving to the United States to pursue her education.
She grew up with experience in managing her family’s restaurant in Nepal. When her father passed away, Kalpana decided to open Gurkhas Indian restaurant to honor his memory.
Her father had served in the Gurkhas, a British military force, for over 15 years.
The name ”Gurkhas” symbolizes the brave warriors who fought fearlessly for the British army, which includes seven generations of Kalpana’s family.
Gurkhas Nepali/Indian dine-in restaurant specializes in Nepali/Indian cuisine, with a focus on curries and momo (Nepali dumplings), and Kalpana hopes that through the food, she can keep the memory of her father and family members alive.

Our Team
Kalpana and her chefs, with over 20 years of culinary experience, have curated authentic cuisine using only the highest quality ingredients for their customers. The chefs at Gurkhas strive to accommodate their customers dietary needs and can make a majority of the dishes vegan, vegetarian, and dairy-free. Over the past 18 years, Gurkhas has become a beloved establishment in Colorado, serving the communities of Longmont and Boulder.

Kind words from our customers
“Love love love Gurkhas! Always great, friendly service, even when it’s packed. We’ve tried a lot of different dishes and they’ve all been great, but my favorites so far are the veggie chili momo and matar paneer. Highly recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner!!”
